Held every second Saturday in store at Gerry Gibbs Camera House.
Professional Photographer Rick Bawden will guide you through the essential fundamentals of Photography.

Through theoretical and practical exercises over 3 hours you will learn.

  • Exposure control Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO relationship.
  • What your camera is thinking and why it sometimes makes mistakes.
  • What do the different modes on your camera do for you and how you can take control, even while in an Auto mode.
  • Why would you change your metering pattern, what does the AV button do and when to use fill flash.
  • How and when to use manual exposure mode, what if any, is the benefit to you.
  • Why a tripod is better than built in stabilisation and how a remote release will help.
  • What lens for what job and why.
  • What filters the Professionals use to achieve those spectacular results.
  • Learn colour control methods and what a monitor calibration tool will do for you.
  • You’ll learn to shoot a Panorama and create a High Dynamic Range image.
  • Finally through a little postproduction work, how it all comes together.
